Does anyone here have training, apprenticeships or work opportunity as boat crew on any rescue boat, ship, or station?
I'm willing to relocate anywhere to join a maritime SAR team. It's my professional goal to do this as a career, and I have some experience.
I need help to reach the goal. Currently, I am webmaster (unpaid) of the Journal of Search and Rescue, an IMRF individual member, and other maritime affiliations.
I've trained on different vessels from lifeboats (RHIBs), to fast rescue boats, to us coast guard vessels, to personal water rescuecraft, to pilot boats and tour boats. My experience has been as boat crew on these vessels, and I am competent in basic SAR operations and exercises from MOB to towing. I am skilled in making study guides and manuals for maritime safety and seamanship topics. I would like to eventually teach.
Maritime CV and letters of rec. and references (one is attached to this post) available on request.
Thank you.
