Each year the International Maritime Organization makes awards for bravery at sea. The awards are conferred on individuals or groups who risk their own lives to perform acts of exceptional bravery in attempting to save life at sea or in attempting to prevent or mitigate damage to the marine environment.
The IMO are now seeking nominations for the 2015 awards. To qualify, the actions concerned must have been performed between 1 March 2014 and 28 February 2015. Nominations must be submitted by 15 April 2015.
As the non-governmental organisation in consultative status on SAR at the IMO, the IMRF is represented on the panel of judges.
