Conference/Workshop Venue: The Conference/Workshop Venue will be at the Rainbow Room at the Chief and Petty Officers’ Mess which is located immediately below The Wardroom, the address being: 1575 Lyall St., Victoria, B.C., V9A 5K5

The SAR Demo will take place at Victoria CCG base.  All observers will need to enter through the main gate on Huron St (marked with the red balloon on the map).  CCG personnel will be there to meet you.  For safety and security, non-CCG personnel will be escorted at all times while on the base.  Upon completion of the Demo, vessel tours and a crew meet and greet will be available at the dock in front of HMCS Malahat.  Escort is required to this area for all personnel.

This workshop will be facilitated by the IMRF in conjunction with its Canadian memberGlobal Experiences (Phil Bostock, HM Coastguard) organisations.


Who:  Open to representatives of IMRF member organisations that have an interest in the topic of indigenous and remote community maritime SAR, particularly those with relevant experience and those from North and South America. Attendance is complimentary for all IMRF members. Accommodation: Limited accommodations at a reduced rate of approximately $60 CDN per night are available for the nights of June 9th, 10th and 11th, 2024 at The Wardroom, which is adjacent to the workshop venue, please forward any requests specifying your name and organisation and the number of nights that you require to [email protected]

Parking:

On site free parking is available in the lots marked P on the map. Please do not park in any spot that has a name or position title assigned to it.

For those transporting themselves to Victoria CCG Base for the SAR demo, free 2-hour parking is available on a first come basis on the streets surrounding the base (marked in green lines on the map).  The nearest public pay parking lot is located at Fisherman’s Wharf (green polygon).  Please do not park in the three lots that are located just outside of CCG base (red polygons).  These are for employees only and you will be towed if you are not displaying a CCG employee pass.  For those who are restricted in mobility, please contact [email protected] to arrange for a priority parking pass.
