The IMRF has been invited to be a part of the 10th International Search and Rescue (ISAR) Conference and Exhibition, which will be taking place in mid-September in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The event is being organised by one of the IMRF’s members, Global SAR Resources.

Roly McKie, the IMRF’s IMO Representative, will be giving a special address at the event, speaking about the IMRF and its global mission during the opening session. In addition, Roly will be presenting in the maritime SAR session, about autonomous and remotely operated vessels, and the possible impacts and benefits on the global SAR system.

Following this, Roly will chair an aviation SAR colloquium and conduct a workshop on SAR aviation standards and principles, the sharing of operational SAR lessons and experiences, working to resolve global technical and operational problems, and addressing the operational impacts of new and emerging technologies and processes.

The IMRF is leading these discussions as part of our establishment of an aviation SAR panel to develop and share information and knowledge in this increasingly important domain of the SAR industry.

As part of this initiative, the IMRF has formed an official Aviation Panel to discuss critical aviation SAR subjects and topics, share ideas, showcase technologies, and develop international best practices that the IMRF then present to the global SAR community and international bodies that govern maritime and aviation.

The next panel will meet in September so click here to find out more and how to join.
