The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary has as one of its responsibilities the Safe Boating Awareness Program. The Auxiliary's Educational arm conducts safe boating courses on a number of subjects.
In addition, the Auxiliary offers free Vessel Safety Checks on both recreational and commercial boats by qualified examiners to insure they meet State and National regulations.
Another Safe Boating program is visits to Marine Dealers to discuss the latest in boating trends and leave Safe Boating information for their customers.
Information can be shared upon specific requests and with approval of United States Coast Guard.
USCG year-to-year statistics consistently show that 80% of water related fatalities are people that never took a Safe Boating Course. So as we reach more people, the death rate is reduced.
